Detecting Drugs of Impairment

NMS Labs offers testing for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs (DUID). DUID impairment can be caused by prescription and/or illegal drugs and inhalants. Both alcohol (BAC – Blood Alcohol Content) and drug impairment (DUID) are responsible for thousands of traffic accidents each year.

Testing for DUI/DUID varies from state to state, but generally is performed using the following matrices:

DUI/DUID toxicology panels designed for Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) and Law Enforcement

NMS Labs has designed a DUID toxicology panel that covers the seven DRE drug categories and all the priority drug groups recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The panel also follows the National Safety Council (NSC) recommendations for toxicological investigation of drug-impaired driving.

  • Cannabis
  • CNS stimulants
  • CNS depressants
  • Hallucinogens
  • Dissociative Drugs
  • Narcotic Analgesic
  • Inhalants
